ABOUT THE PROJECT

The designs for the entrance and wall at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte were created to present a clearer, more readable narrative for viewers. While the story originates from the WLKY Digital Team, each paragraph, sentence, and phrase is given equal space and breathing room, allowing viewers to thoughtfully engage with and better understand Breonna Taylor’s story.

Visitors are intended to walk through the entrance displaying the message “Here & Now,” a phrase chosen for its symbolic meaning within the Black Lives Matter protests—not only for one individual, but for the many others whose stories may not yet have been heard.
