ABOUT THE PROJECT

This series offers a speculative glimpse into a future shaped by the normalization of constant war—much like how social distancing became routine during the pandemic. Through a sequence of images, we follow the journey of a young boy, Nathan Wallace, as he leaves his home in an attempt to escape the relentless presence of conflict.

Each image tells a chapter of his story, illustrating not only his effort to walk away from the horrors and violence of war, but also his quiet coexistence with a world overshadowed by darkness. As he moves through open fields and fractured towns—some serving as fragile safe havens, others devastated by tanks and warplanes—we witness the emotional and physical toll of a world in ruin.

Along the way, Nathan is joined by a dog that chooses to follow him, becoming a symbol of companionship and hope as he continues his search for a more peaceful landscape. Ultimately, the series reflects on the enduring consequences of war while suggesting that, even when escape feels impossible, the hope for peace remains.

Each piece measures 11 × 8.5 inches to maintain visual consistency throughout the series. The final five images feature backgrounds generated using Midjourney, an AI-based artwork generator accessed via Discord.
